Tenaciousness is a competency
Throughout the past couple of months I have developed behaviors that are crucial in succeeding in this course. One of which is to the ability to schedule beforehand. I've quickly realized that these blog posts need to be planned out well in advance of the due date in order to ensure quality. One thing that has worked for me is to create an outline of the posts early in the week. This gets my mind engaged on the blog post for the rest of the week.
Another behavior that I believe is important in succeeding in this class is to focus on the journey and not the grade. It is important to realize that every blog post serves a purpose in the development of my entrepreneur mindset and skills.
Tenaciousness is also about attitude
I really felt like I was going to give up this week in getting this week's requirement set of interviews. My mind wasn't in it, and I began to think that finding people to interview around campus was becoming a chore. Instead of throwing my arms in the air and giving up, I instead tried to make the situation more entertaining by inviting friends to interview strangers with me. I found that the more I am able to incorporate my friends and community into the project, the more interesting the project became.
Three Tips to develop the "tenacious mindset"
- Find friends either in or outside of class to help you conduct interviews with strangers. This really helps in your overall engagement
- Be prepared in advance to submit blog posts in time. Don't wait until the last minute
- Focus on the Journey and not the grade. There is actually a lot of value in giving your all in this class. If you don't do the interviews, then you're really missing out.
The halfway reflection assignment was one of my favorite assignments in this class so far. Reflecting on our own work ethics and attitudes can be a productive thought pattern to develop. This thought pattern can carry on through other task in our lives and be very useful. Often in one’s career, they are expected to look back and judge their own work.

First and second interviews were okay. After that I just felt like I was bothering people and sometimes it was hard to get the information that you are looking for because people tend to get very few worded answers. I am glad that after this week interviews start to die off. Interviewing people has probably been my least favorite part of this class especially because I am working on a made-up product.
